John's European Mounts
Quality Work Reasonable Rates Timely Turnaround

About My Work

Your trophy skull will be cleaned using dermestid beetles, which are able to access the smallest of cavities and remove all the flesh, while leaving all the fine detail that boiling can destroy.
The skull will then be degreased to remove as much of the oils as possible to prevent yellowing and/or becoming rancid.
At this point, it will get whitened. How white will depend on the condition of the skull including the age of the animal and how fresh the skull is. Some staining cannot be prevented in some cases, but every skull will be done to the best quality possible.
I urge you to bring me the skull or freeze it as soon as possible after the kill. Old skulls and winter kills can be cleaned, and I will do my best with what your bring me.
European Mounts
Panels, Pedestals & Displays
I also can mount them on hardwood panels, wall and table pedestals, along with a habitat box (for Paddle fish, which I recommend because of its delicate nature) at an additional cost depending on your choice.
All woodwork is handmade by a local gentleman using walnut, cherry, oak and alder, made to fit your trophy animal.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Horn Mounts
Sometimes the skull is no longer intact or you prefer not to display the skull. In this case I can create a horn panel mount to display your trophy animal.
I use real leather to stretch over the mount along with hardwood panels in the various wood types. Each is put together and crafted by hand to best present your piece's unique colors and features.
